For ASA(ALT), I served as lead designer and brand steward for multiple editions of the Weapon Systems Handbook (2016, 2018, 2020–2021, and 2024), a flagship reference publication documenting U.S. Army acquisition weapon systems that are fielded or in development. Spanning nearly a decade of support, these large-format, perfect-bound volumes ranged from approximately 400 to 436+ pages and were meticulously organized to transform highly technical, data-driven content into clear, accessible, and consistent visual communication. Each edition required end-to-end design execution including layout systems, typography, photo integration, infographics, tables, and structured navigation elements such as “How to Use” sections, detailed tables of contents, and comprehensive glossaries. For the 2024 edition, I led the transformation of the 400+ page handbook into an interactive digital publication, optimized for both mobile and desktop use, significantly improving navigation, usability, and accessibility for a wide range of Army stakeholders. The result was a trusted, repeatable reference tool that enabled Army leadership and staff to quickly understand program capabilities, status, and benefits to the Warfighter while maintaining continuity across evolving program data and annual updates.
